A leading gadget analyst, Brian Marshall of New York equity researcher BroadPoint AmTech believes that the talks of a AT&T's deal with Apple for the iPad 3G may delay Verizon's chances of forging a partnership with the Cupertino-based company.

Currently, AT&T  have the carrier exclusivity for the iPhone until at least 2011. According to Marshall Apple is not impressed with AT&T's network performance but AT&T is keen to remain the exclusive U.S. carrier for the Apple phone. The US electronic giant has offered a generous and recurring monthly data program for the iPad, to keep archrival Verizon Wireless at bay.

Meanwhile, a recent study published by the Global Wireless Solutions has revealed that both Verizon and AT&T were about 99 percent reliable. The study was done on all the major wireless providers in New York City.

Assuming that GWS' study is correct than Apple might extend his deal with AT&T, which will definitely keep Verizon waiting for some more time.

So if Brian Marshall’s understanding is right then no Verizon iPhone release date this year but iPhone 4G release date can be expected in June 2010.
