Apple is expected to launch a 4G version of the iPhone next month as said by a well known Apple watcher. Most of the analysts are of the view that its not going to on Verizon right now, so no luck with Verizon iPhone release date yet.
Now with an iPhone 4G release date in mind in June 2010, the price is obviously a topic of interest. The price point is expected to be at familiar levels.
A 32 GB version of the so called iPhone 4G will possibly be introduced by Apple at $199 while the 64GB version will cost $299. Gene Munster, analyst at Piper Jaffray had predicted these price points in a research note published on Wednesday.
The prices are the same for the 16GB and 32 GB versions of the existing iPhone 3GS. Only Wal-Mart has a price lower than this for the 16GB version which cost $97 at their counters.
It has also been predicted by Munster that the iPhone 4G will go on sale from mid to late June.
Rumors on iPhone 4G went into overdrive on Monday when Apple confirmed that CEO Steve Jobs will deliver the keynote address at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference.
Steve had missed the last year’s event due to his liver transplant treatment. In the meantime there has been an incidence of a prototype of iPhone getting lost when an Apple engineer left one on a barstool in California. Later, Vietnamese tech site Taoviet also posted pictures of a device labeled APL0398.
Jobs missed last year's event after reportedly undergoing a liver transplant. No specifics about Jobs WWDC keynote address are forthcoming.
As per the company the conference will feature five technology tracks including Applications Frameworks, Internet & Web Graphics & Media, developers Tools and Core OS.
