Verizon Wireless posted a message on its website announcing that the new Droid Incredible devices had begun shipping with Android 2.2. A few months ago, network provider AT&T was the best carrier in the US largely because it was carrying Apple’s hugely successful smartphone- the iPhone.

But Verizon has now entered the fray and the Big Red is certainly the wave now. Verizon joined hands with brands like HTC, Motorola and Samsung who are using Google’s OS- the Android in their devices. These days Verizon is unveiling new Android-powered device every now and then and one such device is the HTC Droid Incredible HD.

The HD version of the Droid Incredible is an advanced version of the Incredible, which was released in summer. Verizon has recently introduced a couple of high-end Android-powered smartphones; one of which is the Samsung Fascinate, scheduled to go on sale from the second week of September.

HTC Droid Incredible HD is similar in looks to the Google Nexus One. The device boasts of an 8MP camera with flash. It has a 4.3-inch touchscreen and a front-facing camera for video calls. The HD version of the Incredible also comes loaded with a 3.5 mm audio jack, which means you can also attach the additional speakers to the smartphone. The Droid Incredible HD is expected to hit the stores in Q4 2010.
