Edgar vs Penn 2 Analysis: Edgar won the bout with a unanimous five-round decision as he received 50-45 from all judges, which means he defeated Penn (15-7-1) in all round. The champion wrestler showed his class from the word go looked hungry for a win from the very beginning. Edgar looked in great touch from the beginning and moved quickly from the word go. We all know that Penn is a master at using punch combinations but Edgar never allowed the professional boxer to use his punch combinations. Infact he used the same technique on Penn, taking him by surprise. Edgar however, used his takedowns perfectly and he threw Penn to the mat several times. "I guess it looked like the same kind of fight as the last time, but he got off good," Much respect," said Penn.
In the fourth round, Penn showed some resistance, trying to put Edgar on the mat but the light weight champion did not allow him to seize the advantage. Edgar responded superbly and deposited Penn on the canvas by sweeping his rear leg. Edgar will now clash with Gray Maynard, who defeated Edgar in April 2008.
