Supermodel turned talk-show host Tyra Banks yesterday announced that she would publish her first novel titled "Modelland," in summer 2011.

The  novel is one of a three-book deal with publishing firm Random House. "It's for all the girls and guys who want a lot more FANTASY in their lives … and some fierceness and magic, romance and mystery, crazy and wild adventures, and yeah, some danger too," Banks wrote on her website.

Banks quit catwalk in 2005 and then hosted a day-time talk show from 2005 until it was canceled in 2010. Banks also sits as a judge on the reality show "America's Next Top Model." She is also one of the producers of the show.

The book, which will be Banks' first fiction book, will tell the story of a teen girl in a magical world who find a place in an academy for "Intoxibellas" - "the most exceptional models known to humankind." At the academy, the teenager battles several hardship in order to get accepted. She also finds herself competing for a way of life "that's both hotly desired and woefully out of reach."

These days young female celebrities are trying hard to make a name for themselves in writing books and Banks is the latest to join the bandwagon. Actress Hilary Duff is set to publish a young adult romance/adventure series beginning in October 2010.
