Having seen glitzy launches of two smartphones in close succession— Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G and Apple’s iPhone 4—followed by aggressive marketing campaigns, experts and customers are compelled to ponder: Are they really worth? Michael Arlington on TechCrunch says that HTC EVO 4G is likely to be a letdown for avid mobile users. And as far as browsing is concerned, 3G is doing well and 4G is yet to reach suburbs of the country.
HTC EVO 4G has several hiccups such as its battery life. The battery life is abysmal as compared to other smartphones available in the market. Some users have complained that the battery runs out of power even after the phone has been on stanby mode for hours. The handset’s battery needs to be charged not once but twice a day. And that is a big turn off. The last thing you would like is thinking all the time when to charge the battery.
The HTC Sense user interface doesn’t give you complete control of the device. You can’t customize settings according to your choice. According to Gizmodo, EVO is susceptible to bugs. The bugs force you to reboot the device after failing to perform a given command.
All these reports make you wonder, is HTC Evo 4G really that great as the reviews are saying? You tell us.
