The boxer blurted out in a during a mini-press conference attended by Filipino media men in L.A. to cover the fight. He said, "Our main strategy will be on speed. So, we will be concentrating on that in our last week of preparations."
Pacquiao's adviser cum errand boy, Michael Koncz, even said the fight can be held today and the top seed World Boxing Organization reigning junior-welterweight champion will emerge victorious out of his 12-round scuffle with Margarito.
Koncz spoke to some sportswriters in a statement after Pacquiao's four-hour workout at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood. While responding to a question as to if there still remained any unresolved problems before what is being hyped as Pacquiao's toughest fight he said, "That's actually our problem today, the fight is still one week away."
According to his statement, the seven-division champ is already in perfect shape and that the next nine days before the Dallas match will be dedicated solely for reviewing the fight strategy and making improvements on it.
The Filipino and the chief trainer Freddie Roach agreed to Koncz's statement.
"Yeah, we will just be polishing on strategy, game plan in the remaining days of preparation," confirmed trainer Roach. "We had already done what we're supposed to do. We'll just wait for the fight day," he added.
"Well, you just saw him worked today. He is very happy and cheerful throughout today's session. That only means one thing, he's ready. That's his way of telling Margarito that he's ready for him, " added Roach rubbishing rumors of Pacquiao having his worst training camp.
Boxing fans all over are anxiously waiting for the day for the Dallas confrontation.
