HTC, the mobile handset manufacturer, has recently faced a leak in August when a British retailer on the web posted particulars about two of its smartphones which were awaiting a near future launch: the Desire Z, coded Vision and the Desire HD, code named Ace.
Reports suggest that photos and information regarding, HTC PD42100, the latest Android mobile from HTC,have again been leaked from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Website.The phone appears to bear a Verizon logo in the photo.
As a matter of fact, the latest leak from HTC family, HTC PD4210 has a 4” touch screen, a back-facing camera with single-LED flash, Bluetooth and 802.11b/g/n WiFi connectivity. It also has microSD memory expansion facility. The mobile is equipped with a sliding QWERTY keyboard. The phone has two 3G modems: a GSM 850 modem and a CDMA 2000 connection with EV-DO Rev.A access.
HTC’s second-quarter net profits as announced on July 30 amounted to $269 million, with shipments of around 5.4 million handsets. HTC has experienced 33% year-over-year growth, following alliance with Google’s Android OS.Evidently, as per Chris Jones, a principal analyst at research firm Canalys, Android is achieving “impressive momentum” around the world.
HTC has been giving competition to Motorola who as a resort to answer its rival, had to deploy Android to its product line. Motorola also muddled up the shipments of its Droid and Droid X with HTC’s Droid Incredible and Droid Eris. Motorola aired its quarterly shipment of 8.3 million handsets out of which 2.7 million were smartphones, on the same day as of HTC’s announcement, as put forward by reports.
