Miss USA 2010, Rima Fakih has said on yesterday morning’s “Today” show on NBC that she “didn’t do anything wrong” by participating in a pole dancing contest.
“I can't deny the pictures, obviously people can see them,” the 24-year old Dearborn beauty who won the Miss USA crown on Sunday night told “Today” show hosts Meredith Vieira and Matt Lauer in New York City. The issue has been around the controversial pictures of her in “Mojo in the morning” where she participated three years ago.
Fakih got a chance to speak her side of the story for the first time after the pictures came up on the internet early on Monday morning. She said that she wanted to clarify that it was “not a stripper poll contest”. AS per her it was a promotional event that her DJ friend at a radio station had organized. Her friend had organized the programme to teach women to dance and be sexy.
“So I got up there to help support and get the party started. (I) hopped up there to show them what you learned (during the event). These pictures were taken, obviously they are not the best pictures you can see, but I do want to say it's not what you see; I didn't do anything wrong.”
Fakih said that winning the crown on Saturday was one of the most extra ordinary experiences along with that the signature look that the pageant head Donald Trump provides while saying “You are hired” is a great feeling.
She said that Trump is a “great man “and he has inspired her to study economics with a business minor. He has also inspired her to get involved in the pageant.
A source close to the Miss USA organization told free press on Tuesday that the media made a great deal about the photos that were clicked from the all female radio show promotion a few years ago.
