London-based mobile manufacturer INQ Mobile has unveiled two Facebook centric smartphones - Cloud Touch and Cloud Q. Both mobiles will run Google’s hugely popular OS- the Android. The devices are developed jointly by INQ Mobile and Facebook. Cloud Touch is a touchscreen based smartphone while Cloud Q sports a QWERTY keyboard. Both devices run Google Android 2.2 Froyo. Speaking to the Guardian on Wednesday, INQ's co-founder, Ken Johnstone said, "It was never intended to be a Facebook phone. But Facebook has been very heavily involved with it and it's been a collaborative process."
The Cloud Touch comes fitted with a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen display and a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus. The Cloud Q has full physical QWERTY keyboard and 2.6-inch touchscreen display. Both devices s run Facebook and Spotify overlay. The most striking feature of these devices is that their home screens have been redesigned and carry a Facebook widget that displays News Feed. There is a scroll bar above the Menu button, which allows the user to access different Facebook features directly.
Both Cloud Touch and Cloud Q sport 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset, which has the potential to support the functions required by Facebook addicts. It is expected that these devices would attract many Facebook aficionados who're looking for an affordable Android phone for accessing the social networking site. The Cloud Touch comes loaded with a 4GB microSD card. It has a 4MB internal memory. The devices will hit the stores in the second quarter of this year. No details on the pricing for these phones are available so far.
