Dell recently released its latest device called Streak, which is actually a touch-screen tablet device. The Streak is priced at $300 with a two-year AT&T contract. Going by the Dell Streak reviews, the Streak is a complicated device and is fairly small and thin for a tablet computer. It boasts of a 5 inch touchscreen. Dell however, insists that Streak is also a phone and not a tablet PC only. The device runs an older version of Google Inc.'s Android software.

The device is bulky in size and it is very tough to carry the gadget in pocket. But the big size has an advantage; it is good for watching videos. The Streak runs on a 1 GHz processor which streams the videos at a fairly good speed. The images appear sharp, crisp and clear.

Talking about storage capacity, the Streak includes a 16-gigabyte microSD memory card. It boasts of a strong battery with a long battery life. The big screen is also helpful in viewing Google Maps and other sites.

The biggest flaw of Streak is that it runs an old, outdated software. Although the device comes equipped with a swift processor, its dependence on Android 1.6 – an older version of the Android operating software – prevents the device from making use of some of latest features. These days smartphones are running Android 2.2 a.k.a Froyo.

The device can't run some applications that are compatible only with newer versions. I think Dell should update the device with latest OS in order to improve the performance of the device.
