Apple September 1 Music Event Live Stream: Till now if you wanted to see Steve Jobs in action at an Apple event you had to wait until Apple posted a QuickTime stream of the presentation later that day, but that won't be the case on Apple's September 1 music event in San Fransisco, that is today.

Apple has announced it will provide live streaming of the event starting at 10 a.m PT.

You will be needing a Mac running both Safari and Snow Leopard, or an iOS device running the iOS 3.0 update to view the broadcast on Apple's site. Mac OS X 10.5 users can also access the event on Macworld. it is advised to keep our commentary open in a window while you're watching the video.

Wednesday's event is taking place in San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center. The press event's prime focus is on Apple's music efforts. The events invitation features a guitar festooned with an Apple logo.

Rumors are rife that Apple is likely to showcase new iPod Touch 4G as the September event has been been about new iPod launch in the past. Also expected are iTunes update and Apple TV (iTV) announcements.

There are rumors about white iPhone 4 and Verizon iPhone as well but those seem unrealistic as the timing does not match with Apple's traditional timeline for iPhone announcements.
