What We Know About Verizon’s Motorola Droid X So Far

Motorola looks all set to unveil its latest smartphone- the Motorola Droid X on June 23 and no doubt the smartphone will be an awesome device to own. The Droid X with a 4.3 inch handset is seen as Motorola’s answer to HTC’s EVO 4G.

The launch of the new smartphone just one day before Apple’s iPhone 4 goes on sale is seen as an effort by Motorola to compete with Cupertino’s super-popular smart phone as well.

Rumors are strong that the Droid X will be powered by Android 2.1 and not Froyo- the latest version of Google’s OS. At first glance, the Droid X looks like EVO from afar, but when seen closely it is longer and wider than EVO. The Droid X has a touchscreen with FWVGA 854 x 480 resolution screen. The screen is highly responsive to taps and multitouch gestures.

The Droid X will have an 8-megapixel camera, which will record hi-quality video at 720p. But the camera button is not soft and the users will have to tap it hard to focus. Going by experts views, it seems that the Verizon’s Motorola Droid X could give a stiff competition to Apple’s iPhone 4 and Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G.
