Verizon Shifts Its Focus From Verizon iPhone 4g To Motorola Droid X

For past 4 days, web is abuzz with reports about leaked information from the hush-hush Verizon meeting where the company reportedly announced 2 things: First changing name of company in marketing campaigns from “Verizon Wireless” to “Verizon” and second that the company is not interested in a Verizon iPhone 4 in near future.

Now how true these reports are, I am not sure. But it is possible that the reports are true. About the Verizon iPhone issue, I have a feeling that may be Verizon is not completely abandoning the idea of releasing Verizon iPhone 4 at some point but it is giving the impression for now to help build market for its latest Android powered phone- Motorola Droid X. What do you think?

I mean, it makes perfect sense to make people believe that a Verizon iPhone is not coming, so stop waiting for it and buy the next Verizon smartphone available, which is by the way being gushed over by experts all around! Meanwhile those of you who are interested in buying Motorola Droid X, it will hit the stores on July 15 for $299.99 with a two-year contract, minus a $100 mail-in rebate. But, is this information enough to make you buy it? Here are more details about the next Android based smartphone from Verizon.

The Droid X is said to be the largest phone available in the United States today in terms of surface area. Droid X, at 5 by 2.6 by 0.4 inches (HWD), is 0.2 inch longer than the HTC EVO 4G. It has 4.3-inch, 854 by 480 screen, a resolution higher than other Android super-phones. It has a Swype software that makes typing faster and accurate.

Droid X acts as a mobile hotspot. It allows you to connect up to five compatible Wi-Fi devices to Verizon’s network, such as your laptop, your iPad, or other gadgets, for an extra $20 per month. The Droid X runs Android 2.1 with the latest version of Motorola’s MotoBlur extensions and offers a single interface for various accounts, including Google, Facebook and MySpace.

It has 8-megapixel camera, which experts have rated as among the best. Experts say that the camera takes sharp photos in good light. It captures 720p video at 24 frames per second and is an excellent phone for watching video, experts say. It is a fine music phone with 8GB of built-in memory and one 16GB microSD card included.

Experts preferred Droid X over HTC Droid Incredible because of its better camera, Bluetooth voice dialing, Wi-Fi hotspot mode and various other built-in apps. They advised that people looking for a specific Droid X feature should go for it.

So now you can make an informed decision.
