CultOfMac.com says that T-Mobile will host iPhone 4 on its network in September this year. The launch of T-Mobile’s iPhone will be followed by Verizon iPhone 4, a rumor that has plagued the web forums for months now. Reports of Apple granting iPhone contract to other carrier or multiple carriers come in the backdrop of declining popularity of AT&T services.
The recent antenna issues in iPhone 4 added the burden on Apple Inc. to start looking for other options. It’s notable that Apple Inc has neither rejected nor confirmed reports. So is iPhone coming to Verizon this year or next year?
Mac Maker’s exclusive contract with AT&T is expected by the end of this year. Verizon being the largest wireless network in the US automatically appears as the first choice for iPhone. Experts believe that a union between Apple and Verizon would be highly beneficial for the two sides.
Apple’s revenue will certainly grow after Verizon’s relatively better quality services are incorporated. Reports had previously claimed that Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs was not very happy with AT&T. NY Daily News reported earlier this week that Jobs tried to sack AT&T as many as six times but at all occasions the wireless company got away.
Experts believe that T-Mobile had an upper hand on Verizon even as it’s the fourth largest wireless company in the nation. T-Mobile runs GSM technology, which is also supported by Apple’s iPhone 4. On the other hand, Verizon supports CDMA technology.
However, some believe that Verizon will very soon launch a CDMA iPhone. The concept of a CDMA iPhone is pretty good, as many experts have given go ahead to possible project. So keep your hopes up for iPhone on Verizon while T-Mobile iPhone might come first.
