Ever since the original iPhone was launched in 2007, rumors have been circulating about iPhone coming to Verizon but still there’s no official confirmation or denial about a possible Verizon iPhone release. Initially when rumors began to spread that Verizon is going to host iPhone, the anticipation and excitement among the customers was pretty apparent.
But with the passage of time, rumors continued to fade away and same happened with customers’ interest. Yes some reports reviving speculation continued to spark every now and then but all failed to give a true picture. And the latest is the survey which shows that a majority of subscribers are more than willing to switch to a Verizon iPhone.
Many trust the survey but there are also many who don’t buy the survey findings. Some experts still believe iPhone has the finest UI and looks of any phone in the market. But there is no denying the fact that Android is doing good and has rapidly scaled new heights of success. However, some experts see Android’s success with a different angle. Don’t you think that Android OS is taking the smartphone industry by storm the same way iPhone did some years ago.
Google has wasted no time to incorporate high level of aesthetic appeal in Android without causing much of antenna problems. The only thing Apple has over Google with iPhone is that they are into business of hardware and software of their phone, while Google is still software and looks for other handsets for success.
Now here’s a fact, not many will believe it, users of Android and generally have the same complaints about resource and memory management that users have about the iPhone. With this recent wave of new Android devices on Verizon including the HTC Incredible, Droid X, Droid 2, and the rumored Droid Pro, Android OS is definitely in vogue with VZW customers.
It will be really interesting to see if people would break their contracts to get a Verizon iPhone. I really doubt users will shell out complete unsubsidized cost just to get an iPhone. This means people may delay their switch by at least six months to get iPhone on Verizon. The new Droid users or users with other devices will certainly not go for an instant switch. And if it happens, Verizon iPhone will certainly not be an instant success like iPhone 4 or Droid X.
