iPhones are all over the place but how heartbreaking does it looks when a probable user can’t buy one , and in some cases, has been longing for the last three years, just because Apple has not paid attention to the growing and desperate need of a Verizon iPhone.

Rumor mills have started churning overtime in predicitng Verizon iPhone possibility. This time there is not one but two such rumors that add to the long list of iPhone on Verizon predictions. According to TechCrunch, Apple has ordered “millions of units of Qualcomm CDMA chipsets.” Considering that AT&T uses GSM network, the new developments point that Apple is working on a CDMA iPhone. However, it’s unclear whether it will be Verizon or Sprint who will break AT&T’s exclusivity deal given that both the two carriers use CDMA technology. But, Verizon seems to be the better deal for Apple as the carrier have more mobile subscribers than Sprint. There have been previous reports about T-Mobile as the next likely contender for iPhone after AT&T exclusivity ends.

TechCrunch yesterday reported that Apple has placed a large order for CDMA chips with Qualcomm for an iPhone that will be released by Verizon next year. The tech website cited a source familiar with supply chain logistics to stress its claim. According to report, the CDMA version of the hugely successful iPhone will be manufactured in December and they will go on sale from January 2011. So it seems iPhone on Verizon will finally be a reality, if the report is to be believed.

It seems that rumors related to Verizon iPhone release have vowed not to die and keep on emerging every now and then. TechCrunch today reported that Apple will release a Verizon-compatible CDMA iPhone 4 in January next year. The report cited industry sources, who claimed that Apple has ordered millions of chips for production starting in December. So get set to see iPhone on Verizon.

No one can deny the fact that Android devices are becoming popular across the globe with each passing day and all you non-believers please read this: According to NPD, 33% of smartphones sold in the US during the second quarter of 2010 were running Android, 28% were powered by RIM, and iPhone accounted for 22%. Another research firm, Canalys also claimed the same thing. The logical question that comes to mind is, what could Apple do to avert this scenario. Most experts answer that iPhone on Verizon could be the answer to Android onslaught. So will Verizon iPhone prove to be the savour for Apple?

Speculations are strong that AT&T is positioning the BlackBerry Torch, the latest smartphone out of Canada-based handset maker Research In Motion, as a replacement for when the Big Blue finally loses exclusivity of its flagship device-the hugely popular Apple iPhone. Rumors are abound that once Apple will end its exclusivity deal with AT&T, iPhone will be coming to Verizon (Yes, the much talked about Verizon iPhone).

Rumors are strong that Verizon is planning to end the year on a high and it is being said that the carrier might launch the eagerly awaited Verizon iPhone 4 this year. Intomobile.com reports that according to leaked information, Verizon will start recruitment on a massive scale because the company is planning to double its retail staff in the majority of its retail stores across the US. The hiring is scheduled to begin within few weeks, leading to speculations that the company is gearing up to launch something really big in December. Once again iPhone coming to Verizon rumors start flying. But like I said in the beginning these are just rumors and nothing official has been announced so far.

Here is an interesting observation by Elizabeth Woyke that I came across in Forbes.com. The BlackBerry Torch, which was released yesterday by Research In Motion at a press event in Manhattan, may help AT&T, which will sell the phone in the US, to retain its customer base if Apple decides to give iPhone to another US carrier (Verizon iPhone is the reference here). AT&T told Forbes that Torch, the sliding touch-screen BlackBerry, is its most significant non-iPhone launch this year. The smartphone will go on sale on August 12 for $199.
