Cupertino-based electronic giant Apple has once again delayed the release of much anticipated white iPhone 4, citing manufacturing challenges. There are rumors that the delay has been caused by Apple’s pre-occupation with trying to find iPhone 4 Antenna issue fix. While some other unconfirmed third party reports claimed that the delay is due to the white glass material, a new theory emerged today claiming that the white iPhone 4 has been a manufacturing “challenge” because the company is planning to launch a “hybrid” model which would be compatible with both the AT&T and Verizon networks. Yes, Verizon iPhone again!

CultOfMac.com says that T-Mobile will host iPhone 4 on its network in September this year. The launch of T-Mobile’s iPhone will be followed by Verizon iPhone 4, a rumor that has plagued the web forums for months now. Reports of Apple granting iPhone contract to other carrier or multiple carriers come in the backdrop of declining popularity of AT&T services. The recent antenna issues in iPhone 4 added the burden on Apple Inc. to start looking for other options. It’s notable that Apple Inc has neither rejected nor confirmed reports. So is iPhone coming to Verizon this year or next year?

Barclays Capital analyst James Ratcliffe has predicted that Apple’s Verizon iPhone will hit the market in the first quarter of next year. Ratcliffe said that Verizon would activate 9 million new iPhones by the end of the year and the launch of a Verizon iPhone could lead to the defection of between 500,000 and 1 million customers from AT&T to Verizon Wireless.

The latest buzz on Verizon iPhone release is that it is likely to happen early 2011 after a Barclays Capital analyst predicted so in a report. He went on to add as Verizon’s LTE 4G network might not be ready by that time, so initially we are looking at Verizon iPhone release. Verizon iPhone 4G might come some time later. Meanwhile, AT&T and Verizon Wireless, the two largest U.S. mobile operators, have joined the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), a group that promotes interoperability among carrier Wi-Fi networks. By joining WBA, a member shares their customers’ log-in credentials to allow for roaming. Hence, using their existing user name and password to log in, consumers get access to a Wi-Fi hot spot owned by another carrier.

Substantiating rumors of a Verizon iPhone, an analyst at Barclays Capital has predicted an iPhone running on Verizon Wireless by 2011. According to the analyst the Verizon iPhone would boost new subscribers’ number for Verizon by 900,000 and AT&T would end up losing 500,000 to 1 million customers to Verizon Wireless.

There’s a new entrant to the list of Verizon iPhone release date speculators and they infer that a Verizon iPhone is due early 2011. Welcome Barclays Capital analyst James Ratcliffe, who on Tuesday said that the US’ largest mobile carrier Verizon Wireless would “probably” begin offering the iPhone in early 2011. “As the most popular handset in the marketplace, the iPhone should help drive [Verizon] subscribership,” he said.

Verizon iPhone release is one hot topic for speculation these days. Ever since Wall Street Journal’s report in March along with a recent report in DigiTimes, claimed that Apple had contracted Pegatron Technologies to manufacture CDMA compatible iPhones and the Verizon compatible iPhones would ship to Apple by fourth quarter of this year, speculators are having a real good time. But now analysts at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch and Barclays Capital have expressed the opinion that the signs and portents point to a Verizon iPhone by the beginning of next year.

Apple is unlikely to renew contract with AT&T and most probably enter into a contract with Verizon Wireless which is presently associated with Android smartphones, for bringing out Verizon iPhone, if latest reports from analysts are to be believed. According to a Barclays Capital analyst, James Ratcliffe, Verizon will sell Apple’s iPhone 4 as early as 2011.
