Rumor mills have started churning overtime in predicitng Verizon iPhone possibility. This time there is not one but two such rumors that add to the long list of iPhone on Verizon predictions. According to TechCrunch, Apple has ordered “millions of units of Qualcomm CDMA chipsets.” Considering that AT&T uses GSM network, the new developments point that Apple is working on a CDMA iPhone. However, it’s unclear whether it will be Verizon or Sprint who will break AT&T’s exclusivity deal given that both the two carriers use CDMA technology. But, Verizon seems to be the better deal for Apple as the carrier have more mobile subscribers than Sprint. There have been previous reports about T-Mobile as the next likely contender for iPhone after AT&T exclusivity ends.

TechCrunch yesterday reported that Apple has placed a large order for CDMA chips with Qualcomm for an iPhone that will be released by Verizon next year. The tech website cited a source familiar with supply chain logistics to stress its claim. According to report, the CDMA version of the hugely successful iPhone will be manufactured in December and they will go on sale from January 2011. So it seems iPhone on Verizon will finally be a reality, if the report is to be believed.
