The Droid X Android 2.2 Froyo update is reportedly here and it is almost upon us. But these are unconfirmed reports and Verizon and Motorola have not issued any statements to this effect.

There is also an unofficial leaked verison available on the net but Motorola warns against using such an update. With a range of new smartphones like Samsung Fascinate and Motorola Droid X shining on the shelves of electronic showrooms, it’s becoming seemingly impossible to decide which one to buy. Android devices look like the most sought after right now, having capacity to outshine Apple and BlackBerry devices.

The Droid X from Verizon is still running on the Android 2.1 platform. There are a couple of leaked unofficial upgrades available on the internet to the Android 2.2 Froyo ROM. However, the unofficial leaked versions of the Froyo won’t be of any use at all if and when the original upgrade is available. Motorola will not support the illegal thing and treat it with sheer intolerance.

Looks like Motorola is all set to launch another smartphone after Droid X and Droid 2. We know that it has now become a normal practice that images of the upcoming devices get leaked on the internet, which in turn set the rumor mills running over time. Yes, it has happened again.
The first image of Motorola’s upcoming Android-powered device known as the MB520 Kobe hit the web two day ago. The device is codenamed Diablo and a look at the image showed that the upcoming smartphone is similar in look to Droid X. The Droid X was released on Verizon network across the US on July15. The image however, confirmed one thing: Motorola is indeed developing MB520 Kobe.
