Could CDMA Verizon iPhone Transmit Data & Voice Together? An addition to the persistent rumors that Apple will choose a hybrid baseband controller from CDMA proprietor Qualcomm to make its iPhone 4 version capable of handling both CDMA and GSM transmissions and it appears that 2011 will enable Apple, the iPhone maker to increase its offerings to CDMA network operators.

Lots of speculations have been made about the iPhone on Verizon. Since Apple has been working lately on a CDMA version of iPhone, many tech analysts from Bloomberg and The Wall Street including TechCrunch writer Steve Cheney have anticipated a Verizon iPhone “this coming January.”
And now A WSJ report has quoted people briefed by Apple as saying that Verizon compatible iPhone goes into production by year end, ready to be sold by early next year.

Verizon iPhone release could be perfect way for Apple to get away from the negativity sorrounding iPhone 4. Apple would have never assumed the fate its iPhone 4 would bring along it. There have been issues, issues and only issues with it since its release this summer. A great idea for Apple would be to launch an iPhone 5 soon enough to cover up in its entirety the off beam factors that plagued the iPhone sales this time.

Cupertino-based electronics giant Apple is gearing up to host a press event on September 1 and rumors are strong that the company will make some announcement related to the release of Verizon iPhone and white iPhone 4 during next week’s event despite it being known to be a music event.

Rumor mills have started churning overtime in predicitng Verizon iPhone possibility. This time there is not one but two such rumors that add to the long list of iPhone on Verizon predictions. According to TechCrunch, Apple has ordered “millions of units of Qualcomm CDMA chipsets.” Considering that AT&T uses GSM network, the new developments point that Apple is working on a CDMA iPhone. However, it’s unclear whether it will be Verizon or Sprint who will break AT&T’s exclusivity deal given that both the two carriers use CDMA technology. But, Verizon seems to be the better deal for Apple as the carrier have more mobile subscribers than Sprint. There have been previous reports about T-Mobile as the next likely contender for iPhone after AT&T exclusivity ends.
