Last week Apple launched its new lineup of iPods namely new iPod Touch 4G, iPod Nano 6th generation and iPod Shuffle, with drastic changes and attractive new features. All these years its customers have become habitual of getting a more advanced version of a model, either at a same price or a lesser one.
This phenomenon can be witnessed in the iPod Touch which has been given some captivating features like the Retina display, a lighter form and the video enabled chat from the FaceTime software ( which is really giving worth according to those who have actually use it).The only disappointing factor being the less than 1 MP rear–facing camera which can make good movies but not click vibrant looking high-res images.
Apple raised the price of the 8GB model by $30 making it to $229 but the powerful processor and great features make up for the increase. However, Apple did the opposite for its Nano. The nano now comes with lesser features yet a same price as the last year ones.
Apple has completely revamped its Nano. There have been some add-ons to the techy like the very useful clip. The device is 42 % lighter with a touch screen interface. But it misses a camera – the highlight of the 2007 nano. And the screen is tiny too, even if it had the camera, viewing could have been a daunting task.
Apple wanted Nano to mean music. But at the cost of so many important characteristics? While there has been no price–cut though .This years iPod shuffle has got back its button navigation feature it lost last year which is good but the 4GB model has been dropped. Where shall someone go looking for a higher storage? Moreover, the shuffle lacks a screen.
Consequently, iPod touch is the winner among all. Its been the best and will be the best!
