BlackBerry Style 9670 Review: Canada-based electronics giant Research In Motion (RIM) failed to hit gold with its first attempt at flip. The Pearl Flip was not well received although it was considered as a significant departure in form factors for RIM at the time but the Flip did not find many takers as its lower-end specs, reworked trackball layout, and prominent rear jut were not liked by customers.
Recently, RIM announced its second BlackBerry Flip and this time the company has joined hands with Sprint. It is expected that the BlackBerry Style 9670 with improved software, top-end specs, and latest design principles will find its place in the smartphone market. The question is: Will the BlackBerry 9670 succeed or not?
The BlackBerry 9670 Style is available for $99.99 w/ 2-year contract from Sprint. It has a 2.7-inch QVGA (360 x 400) display. The device is powered by 624 MHz CPU and has 512 MB of RAM. The BlackBerry 9670 Style boasts of a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash. It supports 3G via 800 / 1900 MHz EV-DO Rev. A, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1.
It has microSD support for up to 32 GB and has slot for 3.5mm headphone jack. The BlackBerry 9670 Style runs BlackBerry OS 6. RIM claims that the new smartphone has a talk time of 4.5 hours and has 10.5 days standby. It weighs 131 g. The BlackBerry 9670 Style has spacious, easy-to-type keyboard. The smartphone is bulky when open. It comes loaded with a new WebKit browser that produces more accurate web surfing.
