Apple CEO Steve Jobs yesterday hosted the company’s event in San Francisco but he did not say anything about his company’s flagship iPhone product line quashing hopes of Verizon iPhone and white iPhone release at the event.
Traditionally, Apple has used the September event to make announcement about iPod and this year also the company did the same. The event focused heavily on the new fall 2010 iPod lineup. In addition to new iPod Touch, Jobs also announced iTunes 10 with Ping and AppleTV.
The only times Jobs mentioned the iPhone were when he talked about the forthcoming iOS 4.1 and iOS 4.2 software updates. And Apple boss did mention about iPhone while trying to explain that new touch has near feature-parity with the iPhone 4.
Millions of iPhone lovers, who were watching the event live on web with a hope to hear some major iPhone news must be feeling disappointed to see that Jobs just preferred to ignore anything related to iPhone on Verizon or white iPhone.
But the story does not end here. Although Apple made no mention of Verizon iPhone or white iPhone 4 yesterday, it does not mean that the company is not planning to release them. The Cupertino-based firm already announced that it would launch the white iPhone 4 by the end of this year, so it is not surprising that Jobs did not talk about the device yesterday.
And the Verizon iPhone 4 is unlikely to hit the stores this year at least. So all you iPhone lovers don’t lose heart and wait for some more months to see the release of these devices.
